Directed by Marion Pintello
The World Premiere of a new and hilarious comedy by America’s most produced playwrights will be the next presentation by Pintello Comedy Theater at their popular South County playhouse. The trio of playwrights, Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten will be in the Opening Night audience. The play will run for four more weekends, Friday and Saturday evenings through February 25th, with one Sunday matinee on February 12th.
The Pintello family is honored to be asked to present another World Premiere. “Farce of Habit” is the sequel to the World Premiere presentation of “Farce of Nature” in 2014, and Pintello Comedy Theater’s sixth play by the much-loved comedy team of Jones Hope Wooten. Audiences will remember laughing at “Christmas Belles,” “Dixie Swim Club,” “The Red Velvet Cake War,” and "Always A Bridesmaid.”
The Pintellos will host a special Opening Night reception celebrating the playwrights seeing their newest show produced for the very first time. Pintello Comedy Theater will also be celebrating their delight at the honor of being named the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for 2017. In fact, the theater will be dark on Saturday, February 11th, while the honored theater troupe family attends the presentation of the “Spice of Life” awards by the Chamber of Commerce.
“Nobody writes comedy plays like Jones Hope Wooten,” says director Marion Pintello. “Outrageous characters, crazy costumes, lightning pace, unexpected pranks and plenty of laughs! We’re honored to be presenting the World Premiere of ”Farce of Habit,“ and enjoying every minute of our friendship with Jones Hope Wooten! Their comedies have entertained millions of theatergoers all across America and around the world.”
“Farce of Nature” fans will love getting reacquainted with the Wilburn Family at the Reel ’Em Inn, the finest little fishing lodge in the Ozarks. As the storm of the century heads their way, the family juggles pesky guests, a gaggle of nuns, a wronged woman bent on revenge, an undercover cop – and an axe murderer on the loose! Jim McCann, April Ouellette, and Maureen Haney are back as the Wilburn Family, all previous actors in Jones Hope Wooten plays. They’re joined by PCT veterans Barbara Bottini, Jeff Patereau, Angela Doss Santiago, Kel Whisner, and newcomers to the Pintello stage, Derek Barnes and Dena Gregory. All agree that laughing your way through the lunacy of a Jones Hope Wooten Comedy is one habit you’ll never want to break!
The stage at the historic Gilroy Grange Hall has been turned into a rustic fishing lodge. “One of our favorite theater activities is transforming our stage with innovative and detailed sets,” says artist Whitney Pintello. Reservations are available at 408–337–1599 or by email to Pintello@charter.net.
