“Boeing, Boeing”

Directed by Marion Pintello

The Pintello family has chosen a set-in-the-60’s farce as the next production for their popular comedy troupe, newly re-opened in Gilroy. “Boeing, Boeing” is the story of a very organized British man who dates three stewardesses at once, keeping them separated by their flight timetables. When the jets get faster, his life gets more complicated!

This new show will open on Friday, March 23rd and run Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. for four weekends. One matinee will be presented on April 1st, and one show will be interpreted for American Sign Language on March 31st.

Reservations and information are on line at www.PintelloComedy.com or by calling 408-776-8004, or e-mail Pintello@charter.net.

Produced by Rod and Marion Pintello, the comedy play is being presented in the Gilroy Grange Hall, 8191 Swanston Lane in Gilroy. The theater group continues to present full-length comedy plays featuring local actors, comfortable table seating, coffee and cookies and their trademark friendly welcome.

Reservations for the comfortable, table-seating playhouse can be made by calling 408-776-8004 or by e-mail to pintello@charter.net.

Information and a reservation calendar are available at www.PintelloComedy.com

The three stewardesses in the play are from TWA (Erica Rizzi-Romero), Air France (Whitney Pintello McClelland) and Aeroflot (Tina Elder). The three Englishmen who try to keep their lives straight during each new complication are the stuffy butler (Bill Tindall), the old friend from the country (Kevin Heath) and the lothario who just keeps on smiling (Jayson Stebbins). Stebbins and Heath were co-stars in the hit show “The Foursome” presented by PCT at several South County venues last year. Gilroy native Erica Rizzi-Romero first returned to the local stages after a long absence to do her ventriloquist act in PCT’s “Belles.” Whitney Pintello McClelland, besides being an actress and director in the South County and with the family theater, is also displaying her artwork at the Hall. Tina Elder and Bill Tindall are appearing on the Pintello stage for the first time, bringing the number of actors who’ve performed with the company to fifty-five.

Made into a movie in 1961, the screen version starred Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis. There’s humor from four countries, intended deception and unintended deception, mayhem, merriment and plenty of laughs for the audience.

“These characters are pretty kooky and our actors have to be strong to keep the gag going,” says director Marion Pintello. “With every actor carrying a different accent, everyone has to stay on their toes, and try to keep a straight face!” Bringing four new comedies to the stage this year is a labor of love, says producer Rod Pintello, and he adds that the family is very happy with the central location off Leavesley Road between Monterey and Forest. “Our most recent show set attendance records, we’re very pleased with the enthusiasm of our audiences; our patrons have become friends.”

Opening night at the cabaret-style theater will be Friday, March 23rd with performances continuing Friday and Saturday nights through April 14th. Information and reservations can be found at the web site www.PintelloComedy.com, or by calling 408-776-8004. Or you can reach the Pintello family on e-mail at Pintello@charter.net.
