A whirlwind British farce will be the next comedy presentation at Pintello Comedy Theater in Gilroy. Directed by Marion Pintello and written by Ray Cooney and John Chapman, “There Goes the Bride” is a madcap race to the altar for the Westerby family.
This new show will open on Friday, February 26th, and run Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. for four weekends, closing on Saturday, March 20th. One matinee performance will be presented on Sunday, March 7th at 2 p.m. and one show will be interpreted for American Sign Language on Saturday, March 6th. Reservations and information are online here or by calling (408) 776-8004, or e-mail Pintello@charter.net.
Produced by Rod and Marion Pintello, the comedy play is being presented in the Gilroy Grange Hall at 8191 Swanston Lane in Gilroy. The popular comedy troupe continues to present full-length comedy plays featuring local actors, comfortable table seating, coffee and cookies, and their trademark friendly welcome.
In “There Goes the Bride” dad Timothy Westerby is trying to handle all of the wedding arrangements for his daughter Judy’s wedding day while juggling his frenetic advertising business. After a bump on the head, Timothy meets a beautiful and rambunctious 1920’s Flapper, but only he can see her.
Compounding his problems are his intrepid wife, a critical mother-in-law, his inept and hard-of-hearing father-in-law, a sarcastic business partner and a suspicious father-of-the groom from America. Mixed well and served up on stage, this British comedy is full of laughs.
The energetic cast of “There Goes the Bride” is made up, as always, of very talented local actors. Returning to the PCT stage are Kevin Heath, Stephanie Pintello, Tina Elder, Bill Tindall, Dave Leon and Dale Haluza. New to the PCT stage are two busy local actresses, April Ouellette and Angela Doss.
Opening night at the cabaret-style theater will be Friday, February 26th, with performances continuing Friday and Saturday nights through March 20. Information and reservations can be found here online, or by calling 408-776-8004. Or you can reach the Pintello family on e-mail at Pintello@charter.net.
Rod and Marion Pintello are very pleased to welcome everyone to the family-friendly atmosphere of their theater at the Grange Hall in Gilroy. They’re sure you’ll agree with their motto, “There’s Something Funny Going On Here!”
