Pintello Comedy Theater
Presents Their 20th Show,
First Musical

Celebrating the beginning of their sixth year, Pintello Comedy Theater will present their first musical play. “Pump Boys and Dinettes” will open August 22nd at the popular comedy theater in the Gilroy Grange Hall. Songs with a variety of country sounds will be sung and played by the boys from the gas station (Pump Boys) and the gals from the diner (Dinettes) on Highway 57 one summer in the deep south. Directed by Whitney Pintello McClelland, with music direction by Mike Perry, this former-Broadway production has charmed audiences around the world. As always, The Pintello family will be on hand to welcome patrons at their friendly table-seating theater in the Gilroy Grange Hall at 8191 Swanston Drive in Gilroy.

“Pump Boys and Dinettes” was first performed in the 80’s, with tunes and lyrics that have proved timeless. “It’s popular because the enthusiasm of the cast is contagious and audiences are drawn into the lives of these characters.” says co-producer Rod Pintello. “Our cast is having a great time at rehearsals, they’ll be irresistible during performances.” Lead by Mike Perry playing keyboards, the Pump Boys are played by David Sandhu on guitar, Matt Haluza on keyboards, and Bob Lewis on percussion. All four sing along with the Cupp sisters from the diner, played by Sandi Lewandowski and Stephanie Pintello.

Bringing four new comedies to the stage each year at the Grange Hall is a labor of love, says the Pintello family, adding that they’re very happy with the central location off Leavesley Road between Monterey and Forest. “We’re very pleased with the enthusiasm of our audiences. Our patrons have become friends.” Producer Marion Pintello adds that the company is especially happy to offer regular interpretation for American Sign Language during each production run.

Opening night for the country music revue at the cabaret-style theater will be Friday, August 22, 2008, with performances continuing Friday and Saturday nights through September 13, plus one matinee on Sunday, August 24.
